6.19.2015

On June 18, 2015, Stephen Dovell, Senior Vice President of Energy & Industrial Services proudly accepted the 2015 EBC Nicholas Humber Environmental-Energy Award for Outstanding Collaboration. The Environmental Business Council of New England hosted the 22nd EBEE Awards celebration in Newton, Massachusetts.

MER was selected in collaboration with several other recipients in recognition of the Outstanding Public-Private-Non-Profit Partnership leading to the execution of a vision for environmental restoration through outstanding collaboration resulting in the multi-phase stream restoration of the Town Brook Stream in Plymouth, MA.

Town Brook is a 1.5-mile stream in Plymouth, Massachusetts that provided drinking water to the Pilgrims who made their homes adjacent to the brook on Leyden Street in Plymouth. Town Brook's headwaters are the Billington Sea, a 269-acre freshwater pond. The brook passes through numerous small ponds, including Deep Water Pond and Jenny Pond. It also passes by the Jenney Grist Mill and the Brewster Gardens before emptying into Plymouth Harbor. A nature trail runs along the entire length of the brook.

MER volunteered personnel and equipment for the restoration project to assist D & C Construction, Inc., along with the following organizations:
